Costa Rica Hooksetters offers our anglers the opportunity to experience some of the best salt water fishing in the world! The legendary Furuno Bank continually produces world class bill fishing. Seasoned billfish anglers will be challenged by the size and numbers that
frequent these waters. Yellow fin tuna from large numbers of "schoolies"to the 300 pounders are all found in these tropical waters. Dorado are found in deep water as well as rip lines and are a fight not soon to be forgotten. Bottom fishing along the bank produces large
snapper, grouper and many other species of rock fish. Calm water throughout the peak of the season make perfect conditions for trolling live bait as well as lures. The action is usually near the Furuno but many days see the bait fish move in, the blue water and the bill fish! Trolling is the most productivemethod for hooking bills as well as tuna and dorado. When the live bait action is slow, Captain Rudy Dodero will use his ballyhoo and lures tokeep the fish rising! A day of fishing these waters in peak season can see 7 to 10 plus sails raised!
