Black Marlin on Rapala X-Rap Magnum, wins 2011 BLUEWATER CLASSIC -
--------------------------
Boat skipper, Pat Tait of Top End Tackle World, Coolalinga, reported on their team's success during the 2011 BLUEWATER CLASSIC in NT of the weekend 28-29 May:
"We were skipping 2 dead baits off the riggers in hope of catching a sailfish or marlin, with a Rapala X-Rap Magnum 30 Dorado being trolled for a stray mackerel. All of a sudden the X-Rap screams off & shortly after a big black marlin was dancing on the surface, with the X-Rap Magnum in its gob!
Normally trebles don't find their place too well in the hard jaw of a billfish, but fortunately the 4x VMC stuck true for the 90 minute fight on 24kg tackle, allowing us to tag the estimated 250kg black marlin, and as a result... securing a tournament win.
Only 7 billfish were tagged during the tournament this year; our big black and 6 sailfish."

Congratulations to well-known NT fishing identity, Trevor Robb, on his fine tag & release as angler.
